Reading the statement out loud every night felt like a chore as I wasn’t able to summon strong emotions and feel for the words. Sometimes, I even forget to read them! Spicing up the process by listening to motivational music or topping it up with visualization helps, but over the course of the year, I’ve found an easier and more effective way to work with affirmations. The Dr Lens’ approach, also known as the Hoponopono method. I’ve briefly mentioned this method in a previous article. [...]

Very much so Ellesse. Rewards come in many fashions I believe, and sometimes through unexpected measures. All in all it comes down to the choice of if you really want to reward YOURSELF or not.

Hey Bunk, thanks for sharing your wonderful story. No doubt not all of us may be into body building, but I'm sure we can attest to overachieving what we've set out to do. Actually I'm amazed that I've actually signed up for the 5km marathon, something that I've never thought I would do.

Though you absolutely deserve the time-off, I'm sure the happiness of your wife makes all your effort worthwhile, isn't it?

I recently experienced something along the same lines. Rather than a 5k, my vehicle of self motivation came through body building. I recently tried to put on as much mass muscle weight as possible. At the end of one week i had put on an incredible 5 lbs! This was huge motivation and by the end of the one month goal i had put on 12 lbs.(I have a blog post somewhere surfing the net about it).

Anyways, I had originally planned to take some time off at the end of the month trial, but realized that you know what.....i had put way too much work into this to give up yet. I took two days off and then went another two weeks pushing myself to the limit. By the end of a total of 6 weeks i had put on a mind blowing 15 lbs. of pure muscle, which really made my wife happy HAHA.
